Following last week’s Engage Development Partner Meeting, representatives from specific Independent Schools converged again on the Donnington Valley Hotel in Berkshire today, for another Double First Software Development Partner Meeting.
The meeting proved to be an excellent opportunity for school bursars to meet with Kim Hollamby, Double First's new Director, and to gain an understanding of how the software has been improved still further in recent months.
What the Delegates said...
Prue Matchwick, Bursar at Elstree School, was particularly impressed with recent improvements. ‘We’ve been a happy Double First Accounts user since 1997 and these meetings are very helpful for us,’ she said. ‘It’s good to know the company isn’t just supporting Double First, but also has a clear development plan for it. That’s a real commitment.’
Anne Walker from St Mary’s School was also full of praise. ‘I’m very pleased with the recent developments,’ she said, ‘especially as Double First understands schools so well, and how little changes make a big difference to us.’
Kevin Barry, Assistant Bursar at James Allen’s Girls’ School, highlighted just how important these meetings are. ‘The best thing is that issues discussed turn into real software developments,’ he said. ‘With 1,050 pupils, we are quite heavy users of
the software, but I honestly can’t remember the last time we had to call the Support Team.’

The meeting was an excellent environment to share with the schools all the enhancements in the latest release of the software. It was also the perfect opportunity for delegates to meet Steve Holloway who would be joining Double First next month, as a developer.
Steve was very excited about the thought of working with the schools. ‘I can’t wait to join,’ he beamed, enthusiastically. ‘I love the way Double First really strives to look after schools and I’m really looking forward to being part of the team.’
