What is the Engage Portal?

What Becta says, about a VLE 'Learning platforms should have communication and collaboration tools to enable both peer to peer, and peer to mentor dialogue, as well as individual online working spaces, for the school workforce and pupils.' 'Teachers should be able to create or adapt existing digital materials, where required linking them to other online resources, and then make them available to appropriate groups or individual pupils.' A web Portal into Engage MIS, giving teachers and parents their own dedicated access to specific data within Engage.

Access can be made from within the school, or anywhere where an Internet connection exists.

The portals are fully passworded in accordance with UK and EU Data Protection recommendations.

The Parent Portal

The Parent portal is as highly developed as the Teacher portal, and designed to encourage greater parental engagement with the school.

How is the Engage Portal accessed?

Within the school campus, access is fully automatic.

Externally, as long as you have access to the Internet, by PC, PDA, or even your 'phone, you can operate Portal.

What is the limit of the Portal?

If the data is there, the Portal can be configured to use it.
